Photography & The Cultural Revolution

The University of Bolton in association with Dalian Image Art College, hosted a two day conference in Dalian, to discuss Photography and the Cultural Revolution. This is the first of a series of planned annual conferences connected to UoB’s MA Photography that runs both in Bolton and in Dalian, and the research of photography lecturer DJ Clark. Highlights of the conference included lectures by photographers Li Zhensheng and Jiang Shao Wu as well as a critical debate led by New York curator Robert Pledge from Contact Press Images.

Robert Pledge Reviews Student Books

Students completing the MA Photography in Dalian were given portfolio sessions by Contact Press Director Robert Pledge and renowned Chinese photographer Li Zhensheng. Students work in their final term on produce a book based on their final project.
